URI CHEERLEADING PHOTO GALLERY

Team Information:
The University of Rhode Island Cheerleading program consists of male and/or female cheerleaders. We have one non-competitive squad that cheers at football and men's and women's basketball games. There are currently no scholarships avaliable for cheerleaders.

Tryout Information (** UPDATED **):

Tryouts for the 2008-09 school year will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 20th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Mackal Field House. We welcome all men and women that would like to tryout.

The tryout will be a two-day event. We do not require you to demonstrate any of your own material. We will be teaching the URI fight song and a couple of cheers. You will be evaluated on the material we teach you as well as stunting and tumbling skills.

The first day will consist of learning all the material, stunting and the interview. The second day will be the tryouts and then our first practice together as the new squad!

There will be a break for lunch around noon, on the first day so please either bring a lunch or money to go and get lunch.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that for tumbling you will have to perform a standing backhandspring by yourself to be eligible to make the squad.

Everyone should wear plain navy shorts and a plain white tank top or t-shirt.

Everyone should be at the Mackel fieldhouse by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday to register
.

If you have any questions or a conflict with the dates and times please email me immediately at cheeruri@yahoo.com so we can try to work something out.

I look forward to seeing everyone at tryouts!
