2008:
Earned the start and struck out three in five innings in his collegiate debut at Troy on Feb 23... Notched hit first career win at Radford on March 17... Pitched eight innings of no-hit ball - while striking out nine batters - before giving up a leadoff single in the top of the ninth inning to earn his second win of the season against Marist on March 26... Received the Atlantic 10 Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards on March 31... Picked up his third win of the season, striking out four batters in as many innings at Brown on April 2... Struck out four batters in four innings to earn his third victory against Brown on April 2... Picked up his fourth victory pitching seven innings and striking out six in a 5-3 win against Hartford on April 16... Pitched five innings while giving up one just one hit to earn his fifth win of the season against Sacred Heart on April 22.

High School:
Played baseball and basketball alongside teammate Tom Coulombe at Lincoln High School... Captained the baseball team his senior year... Was an All-State selection in 2006 and 2007... Was the Northern Division MVP as a junior and earned Most Outstanding Player honors his session season.

Personal:
Born February 21, 1989... Son of Gail and David Pickering... Has an older brother Matt, who pitched for the Rams in 2006, and two younger brothers, Ben and Jon... Interests include fishing, basketball, football and video games... Favorite teams are the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics... Majoring in Exercise Science.
