The University of Rhode Island sits in a tie atop the team leaderboard after the completion of day one at the 30th annual Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship. Bill McDonald and Brad Valois helped pace URI in the opening day of the A-10 Championship, each firing off rounds of 69 (-3), to sit in a tie for third overall.

The Rhode Island golf team finished fifth at the Northeast Invitational, Friday afternoon at Green Valley Country Club. Rhody was paced by Patrick Pelletier and Jarryd Dillas who tied for 10th overall with a score of 151.

The University of Rhode Island finished fifth overall at the 39th annual Marshall Invitational at the par-71, 6,476-yard Guyan Golf and Country Club. Brad Valois tied the tournament record with a first round 65, while Mark Stevens carded a 68 in second round action.

The two-day, three-round tournament is being held at the Palmetto Golf Club (par 70, 6,565 yards). Leading the way for the Rams after two rounds of play is Patrick Pelletier. He shot an opening round 73, followed by a 76 for a two-round total of 149. Pelletier sits in a tie for 20th overall.
