Rhody Sits in Third Place after Second Day of Play at A-10 Championship

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- The University of Rhode Island sits in third place on the team leaderboard after the second round of competition at the 30th annual Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event is being contested at the Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla. (par 72 - 6,882 yards).

The Rams combined to shoot a seven-over par total of 295 in day two. URI is three-under for the tournament through two rounds, at 573 (278-295). Nationally-ranked Charlotte expanded on its lead, shooting a second-day total of 274, and is at 552 (-24). Dayton sits in second place, just one stroke ahead of Rhody, at 572 (279-293).

Mark Stevens led Rhode Island in round two, with a one-under 71. After firing off a round of 70 yesterday, Stevens sits in seventh place overall with a total of 141. Bill McDonald followed up his opening round 69 (-3) with a one-over 73 in day two. He is tied for eighth, just one stroke behind his teammate, at 142. Jarryd Dillas shot 74 in round two, putting him at even-par for the tournament (70-74=144)and in 12th place. Brad Valois shot a second round 78, putting him at at three-over (69-78=147) and in a tie for 22nd place, while Pat Pelletier shot a 77 in day two, putting him at five-over for the championship (72-77=149).

The third and final round of the A-10 Championship will be contested tomorrow, beginning at 8 a.m.
