WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- The University of Rhode Island finished in third place at the 30th annual Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event was contested at the Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla. (par 72 - 6,882 yards). The Rams combined to shoot a one-under par total of 863 (278-295-290). Charlotte took the team title with a total of 837 strokes (-27), while Dayton finished second (-4, 860). Mark Stevens led Rhode Island, tying for eighth place overall. The junior shot an opening round 70, followed by a 71 in the second round and a 73 in the final day of play. His 214 strokes put him at two-under for the tournament. Bill McDonald tied for 10th place, finishing with three-round total of 215 strokes. After an opening round 69, he carded back-to-back rounds of 73. He finished one-under par for the championship. Jarryd Dillas finished in a tie for 17th place. The senior carded a 70 in the opening round and shot 74 in the second and final days of play. His total of 218 strokes was good for two-over par for the tournament. Pat Pelletier finished in a tie for 22nd place overall. His best round of the tournament came today, as he fired off a two-under 70. For the championship, Pelletier shot a three-over 219 (72-77-70). Brad Valois finished in a tie for 35th overall, with a total of 226 strokes (69-78-79).
