ACHA #1 Rams come up short in 4-3 loss to #2 Penn State

John Brennan opened the game's scoring at 1:20 as he finished the play to put the Rams ahead 1-0. Defenseman Jason May extended the Rams lead to 2-0 at 8:08 in the first period. The Rams were held scoreless during the second period, and Both teams started the third period shorthanded. Playing four a side, PSU scored early in the third on a shot only 13 seconds into the period. A The Rams applied consistent pressure throughout the third period attempting to narrow the gap and managed to do it with 32 seconds left as Matt Loftus scored on a set up from Matt Ranger as the Rams pulled Anthony Feyock to put out the extra attacker. With the score at 3-2, the Icers managed to hold the Rams off to secure the victory, but not before the players on the ice became involved in a brief melee that was quickly broken up, and both teams shook hands to end an intense weekend series. The Rams finish the regular season series with the Icers 2-1-1. The next time the two teams could meet would be at the ACHA National tournament in March. The Rams travel home to prepare for two home games against ECHA opponent
