Rams still undeafeated at 12-0-1

Nov. 7, 2004

As the marquee matchup of the weekend wrapped up after a tremendous 65 minutes of tough, gritty, and at times, viscious play on Saturday night, both the Rams and Icers met at center ice to shake hands to acknowledge the superior play of each teams' goaltenders. Penn State had outshot the Rams by taking almost 40 shots while the Rams had only taken half as many shots; however, both teams ended up with the same result, a 0-0 tie. Penalties on both sides had created many scoring opportunities, particularly for the Rams who could not convert on many two-man advantage power-plays as Penn State's goaltender was solid in the net.

Not to be outplayed, Ram goalie Anthony Feyock increased the quality and timing of his saves, as his save on a tipped Penn State point shot with 9 seconds remaining in the third period helped extend the game into sudden-victory overtime play. During the five minute overtime frame, the Rams were penalized and played shorthanded for a better part of the period, and it was Feyock that led his team once again in preserving the tie for the Rams. Though the Rams offense had opportunities to win the game, a tie with the currently ranked #1 ACHA team had capped off a weekend series that included a 4-2 win the previous night that resoundingly states who the top team in the nation currently is.
