Michelle Levreault begins her second season as Athletic Trainer for the Rhody men's soccer team and first with the women's basketball team. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine in 2003. During her time in Storrs, she gained experience working as a student trainer for the Huskies' women's soccer, women's hockey, softball and men's track and field teams. In addition, she volunteered time with the Manchester (Conn.) High School fall sports teams and for the Hartford Family Clinic. Upon graduation she was awarded the "Doug Casa Award" for ongoing research.

In 2005 Michelle received her Masters Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island and was recognized for "Outstanding Graduate Studies Research" based on work from her thesis and past research. As a Graduate Assistant athletic-trainer for the Rams, she worked with football as well as men's and women's swimming.

"Michelle and the athletic training staff are an integral part of the success of the programs at URI," men's soccer coach John O'Connor noted. "Michelle has established a relationship of honesty and trust with our players which goes a long way in getting them back on the field as soon as possible. We are lucky to have her with us".

A native of Woonsocket, R.I., Levreault graduated from Woonsocket High School where she earned letters in softball and tennis. A former captain of the Woonsocket high tennis team, she was voted MVP, captain and was the All-Division #1 singles player her junior and senior years.

During the year Michelle is responsible for day-to-day treatment of the student-athletes as well as assisting in designing programs for the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. She is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and was recently elected the secretary/treasurer of the Rhode Island Athletic Trainers Association. She has done research the past 3 years with the University of Connecticut and Gatorade examining hydration in youths participating in summer camps whose results have been recently published in Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise.

Michelle is single and resides in Kingston, R.I.
