Women's Basketball
Experience: Liz Proctor is in her fourth season in the University of Rhode Island strength & conditioning department, including her first as head coach. She is responsible for overseeing the strength and conditioning program with the primary goal of developing speed, strength, agility, flexibility and injury prevention. The Antrim, N.H. native came to Kingston from Holy Cross, where she spent four years as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. She worked with all of Holy Cross' varsity sports, primarily working the Crusaders football team. Proctor also assisted with the AHL's Worcester Ice Cats and the NHL's St. Louis Blues. During the summers of 2000 and 2001, Proctor was the strength & conditioning coach for the WNBA's New York Liberty. She implemented the in-season strength and conditioning program, along with designing and incorporating flexibility and endurance exercise for individual players. Proctor also assisted the athletic trainer with treatment, rehabilitation exercises and equipment management. She graduated from Southern Connecticut in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and minor in nutrition, while also competing on the field hockey and softball teams. Proctor went on to earn her master's of education in applied exercise science at Springfield in 2000, while also serving as the assistant strength coach for the football, track & field and men's volleyball teams. |
