Field Hockey
The 2007-08 academic year will mark Annie Sidorenko's first season with the Rhode Island field hockey program. Sidorenko comes to Kingston after spending the 2006 season as head coach for both the Frostburg State field hockey and lacrosse programs. In 2005, she was a graduate assistant coach for both field hockey and lacrosse, helping guide the FSU field hockey team to an 11-7 overall record - the team's best record since 2002. She enjoyed a solid playing career at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa. A four-year starter for the Red Flash, Sidorenko played at both halfback and midfield and served as team captain as a senior. She played three years of lacrosse as well, starting in the midfield, on defense and in goal. Sidorenko brings a wealth of coaching experience to URI. She has coached at the International Scholar-Athlete Games on the Rhode Island campus, as well as numerous field hockey camps around the region. Sidorenko was the program director for field hockey coaching for MAXX Sports and did individual coaching in 2001 in Columbus, Ohio. In 2002, she coached the Scholar Athlete Games with Amanda Heryla. A 2005 graduate of Saint Francis, Sidorenko earned her bachelor's degree in political science, with a focus in international studies. She also minored in Spanish and history. Sidorenko is currently pursuing her master's degree in business. |
