On Dec. 8, the Rhode Island Women's soccer team held their annual Cow Chip Bingo fundraiser. Seventy parties participated in this year's event, including community and family members and other supporters of the program.

Four Rams Named to 2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team

Four members of the Rhode Island women's soccer team were honored by the Atlantic 10 as part of its 2007 All-Conference team, it was announced today. Jessica Babice was named Rookie of the Year, while Deb Nelson and Dora Larusdottir were named to First Team All-Conference. Thorunn Jonsdottir was a Second Team selection.

Freshman forward Jessica Babice was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, after a five-point weekend for the Rams from Nov. 2-4. It marks the second time she earned weekly rookie honors from the conference office.

Rhode Island dropped its final game of the 2007 season, 1-0, to Richmond this afternoon at the URI Soccer Complex.

With the loss, the Rams end their season with a 12-6-2 overall record, including a 6-4-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play.

Dora Larusdottir's goal just two minutes into the match proved to be the difference, as Rhode Island held on for a 1-0 win at Charlotte this afternoon.

With the win, Rhody improves to 11-5-2 overall on the season and 5-3-1 in A-10 play. The Rams close out the 2007 regular season at home, hosting George Washington on Friday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. and Richmond on Sunday, Nov. 4 at noon.
