Nov. 2, 2007
KINGSTON, R.I. -- Jessica Babice tallied two first half goals and Dora Larusdottir added another, as Rhode Island posted a 3-0 shutout victory over George Washington tonight at the URI Soccer Complex. Babice got the Rams (12-5-2, 6-3-2 A-10) on the scoreboard first in the 16th minute. The freshman from Groveville, N.J. took a Becca Fish pass on the right side and fired it off the far post and in, from 20 yards out. Just under 15 minutes later, Babice struck again. Kassandra Spitler set the score up perfectly, crossing a pass into the box at the 30:22 mark. Rhody took a 2-0 lead into the intermission. In the second half, Larusdottir registered the third goal of the match - and her 10th of the season - at the 50:08 mark. Babice set up the play, finding the junior from Reykjavik, Iceland on the left side of the box. Larusdottir's shot went to the upper 90 on the right side, past GW goalkeeper Amie Kern.
