Jennings, Graham Victorious at Hurricane Invitational

Full Hurricane Invitational Results CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The University of Rhode Island women's track & field team competed at the Hurricane Invitational, held March 20-22 at the University of Miami. Jasmine Jennings and Sarah Thornton placed 1-2, respectively, in the hammer throw. Jennings took the individual title with a toss of 190-07 (58.09m), while Thornton registered a mark of 168-00 (49.87m). Katie Kostiew was sixth (46.60m/152-11). In the shot put, Jennings finished sixth overall (12.60m/41-04.25), while Kostiew was 12th (12.22m/40-01.25). TyLynn Graham won the high jump competition. She cleared a height of 5-08.75 (1.75m). Graham also placed ninth in the triple jump (10.90m/35-09.25) and 15th in the 100m hurdles (14.69). Shayna Daughterty finished second in the heptathlon, totalling 4498 points. The sophomore led the multi-event competition after day one. She captured the high jump competition (1.67m/5-05.75) and 800m (2:26.01), while placing second in the 100m hurdles (15.07), third in the 200m (26.94), fourth in the shot put (9.39m/30-09.97), and fifth in the javelin (23.04m/75-07) and long jump (4.97m/16-03.75).
