The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team placed 12th overall at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship, held at Belmont Park in Philadelphia today.

Leading the way for the Rams this afternoon was Mary Najarian. She placed 38th overall, covering the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:20.0.

URI Competes at 41st Annual UAlbany XC Invitational

The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team placed 12th in the championship division race at the 41st Annual Albany XC Invitational. Leading the way for the Rams this afternoon was Mary Najarian. The freshman finished in 53rd place overall, clocking 18:54.2 for the five-kilometer course.

The University of Rhode Island women's cross country finished 30th overall at the New England Championship, held today at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Mary Najarian was the top finisher, crossing the line in 80th place. She clocked 19:47 for the five-kilometer course.

Mary Najarian was the team's top finisher, placing 18th overall. She covered the five-kilometer course in 19:51.1.

Mary Najarian led all Rhode Island runners with a 23rd-place finish as URI women's cross country team finished seventh overall at the Central Connecticut Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15. Brittany Pelsue was Rhody's second finisher, crossing the line in 19:09.

Women's track & field standout Emily Anderson (Westerly, R.I.) and men's soccer goalkeeper Mark Sauter (Columbus, Ohio) have been named Rhode Island-Atlantic 10 Scholar-Athletes of the Year, announced today by the Atlantic 10 conference. This year marks the first time that the A-10 directors of athletics recognize Scholar-Athletes on each individual campus.

14th Annual URI-WABC Golf Tournament Fundraiser Set For June 12

Plan to attend the 14th Annual URI-WABC Golf Tournament, held on Tuesday, June 12 at the Richmond Country Club. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Donuts and coffee will be available and lunch will be served following the round. The fee is $100 per player. Entry deadline for the tournament is June 6.
